2007 - Ten Year Anniversary / President Message

President Message

Ten years seems a long time.

In the 10 years since this association's inception, we have seen quite a number of changes and developments that have brought about much recognition which has taken the association to greater heights of achievements.

This has benefited all the members immensely.

Looking back from day one, and what the association represents today, the achievements could not have been possible if not for the full support of all the members and the hard working Council.

Bearing in mind that the association does not have any full time staff except for the volunteer work of the Council Members who, by the way, have their own businesses to run, makes the progress and successes of the Gifts Association even more remarkable and commendable.

Today, the solid pillars of the Gifts Association -- the Gift's Buyers Guide and the Gifts and Stationery Show has exhibited the talents and abilities of the members that created numerous business opportunities, only for them to take advantage and to realise it.

I am indeed very proud to say that members have improved their businesses and they sincerely appreciate it very much.

The spirit of entrepreneurships speaks volumes of the endeavours and "never say die" attitude of the members -- which simply put, "Gifts Association's members have what it takes to be in these highly competitive business environment".

The Gifts Association has and continues to enjoy warm and cordial relationships with the many foreign trade associations based in Singapore.
As a result, our members always enjoy special privileges and VIP treatments when visiting the overseas trade fairs with the attention, support and help of these various trade boards.

The numbers of overseas trips that were sponsored by these foreign trade associations also reflects the credibility and importance our Gifts Association has with them and the desire of the trade boards to harness business opportunities with our members and their respective country's businessmen.

Even the local government agencies were equally supportive of our association's endeavours and had extended various grants and subsidies to help members identify and seek business opportunities here and abroad.

The friendship amongst members, albeit competitors in same business, has won many commendations from various sources, for our ability to work together to champion the cause of the Gifts Association. This attitude is remarkable and also shows the maturity of the members of Gifts Association.

Ten years on and staying together is truly a great achievement.

The founding and early members started out with a vision to be part of Gifts Association which can help their business grow and progress.

Today, in the business circles, Gifts Association has earned itself respect and dignity -- and I am honoured to be a part of this association.

Good luck and best wishes!

Best Regards

Frankie Chia
